Dear Blog surfers,

Sorry about not updating. Heheh. I think i lost the spark. So i should prolly write about the birthday. I'm nineteen now! Super old, huh? Super fat too. (that's why i haven't been putting new pics up) Hahha! I hope i'm joking... But Ana told me i gained some weight compared to a year ago. That was when i first came! It's all American culture. It's their fault. Their food and lard and ..watever... heheh. =] Anyway, i guess it's pretty true that i gained some weight... I looked at me face the other day and pow! it was ROUND! *darn* I need longer, spikier hair to balance my features now.... =]
Sept 10 was a friday, and a workday for me. I'm still the faithful ol' grillboy of Todd Dining hall.... kesian.... Want a better paying job where i don't need to do hard physical work.... but... hey, it seems that i'm stuck on this job for another semester,...
Some pros about it tho: i get free food, and exercise... hahha! Gosh, since when did King pui get so .......ummm..... freakishly obsessed with his size??!?..... hah. nope, dont worry....i dont really care.
Ok!! back on track *again* my bday? Went to class, received a few hugs and greetings and mails and....thats all i guess.. (Tallking about mails, thank you for your mail Tim.... U gave me a good lift !) At nite, i was supposed to go chill n watch a movie with some girls...but i was late and ....yup couldn't make it. =] Besides that, ol' Chris paid for my chocolate ice-cream later that nite. woo hoo...

"considering the abundance of arguments to prove and disprove faith or God, considering the fuc**** dilemma humanity is getting itself into constantly,

what fuels your passion for you faith?

what makes you believe more than doctrines or biblical passages. personally, how do you just feel?"
-anonymous philo major-

Always good to ask questions. I'll try my best to answer it. But considering that the average human thinks in about 400 words a minute, but is only able to speak 100 in a minute(and writes even less), i doubt that i could convey fully all that i have in my mind.... Nevertheless, here goes:

1. I believe god is not an impersonal god.
I suspect that most of us, when we are confronted with words like "faith" and even "god", we tend to think "religion." And like most other man-made symbols/words, the meaning usually starts from our own perspective; It's how WE view things. It's how WE interpret it. Pretty self-ish. No surprise that this is a "human achievement."

Time to shake up that perspective: the humans are on one side. their god/creator on the other. humans try to reach god. what does god do? is god static? does god make an effort in that relationship too? Like all relationships, it's not one-way. If it was one-way it ain't a relationship. So, i guess what i'm saying is : it's not all about doctrine and biblical passages... what fuels my faith is God himself ! It's more than believing statements/facts. more than doing the right thing. People who are in touch with God, feel God too. Some say He speaks to them, listens to them, comforts them, teach them, and draw them closer to Him. Well, i would have to affirm all that as TRUTH, based on personal experience. ; )

2. deep yearnings in the spirit.
Anyone familiar with Greek gods and goddesses? Of course, they're all over tv and the media. Are they real? Well some might say "hell yea!".... but most of us would probably say no. Then why do we still create a similar image with the God of the universe? We think god created us as his own TV set. For his entertainment. For switching on after a hard day of work. And maybe on weekends, send down some thunderbolts and earthquakes and hurricanes and tsunamis just to spice things up for the teensy "lee- tel" humans. Well, how do we know that ALL that is wrong?? (meaning of "wrong" here=unethical, immoral, sinful)

"TOTALLY EVIL! if god were like that, he would have to be an EVil god!!"......

"what??!? creating men just to have FUN?!? that's crazy!!"....

Deep inside, if we are honest, we oh-so-no that it's wrong. How do we know? ...unless God allowed us to know....
Anyway, we need not worry because God is a Good God. He did not create us to be a 3-d entertainment system. -if god is god, he is self-sufficient- Un-needing for humans to "complete his life" (think Jerry Maguire here) With this in mind, another question pops up: then why create men? If god is god, he wouldn’t be limited by time or space, he would know how his creation would end up… in suffering, sin, trouble, mischief, etc…. so why?WHY EVER start something with a [seemingly] horrible ending???!?!
Hmm... Honestly, the answer to that has yet to be revealed to me... I might never know until i meet with God himself... But hey, what's faith without some "un-sure-ness"of some things? =] The world wouldn't work without faith. Even if you claim unbelief in God, you are still claiming faith in all aspects of your life(your education, your parents, your car, your internet connection...et al....) and check this out: if we can place faith in the rickety-things of the world, why can't we place faith in God?

Just like the switchfoot song, "meant to live" ....

we want more than this world's got to offer
we want more than this world's got to offer
we want more than the wars of our fathers

and everything inside
SCREAMS for second life!

All humans have a natural thirst for something more. And only one can fulfill that thirst. LIke the woman at the well (JOhn 4) we need only to ask.

"How much do you weigh?"- jing and josh

Hah. Okay good question. But not something that i would like to find out... Due to my inability get to an accurate weighing machine, i would have to concede defeat on this question. (That's a nice way to explain my situation, because in all actuality it's my pride stopping me from weighing myself...) *wink*

haha.. So.

Judge for yourself. I'm showing you a recent picture instead.
